POLSON'S GOT TALENT
Rules & Regulations
1.The Polson's Got Talent vocal competition is an event that showcases the vocal talents of adult performers, (21 & up). Over the course of the next several weeks, show sponsors D & D Karaoke and Anderson Broadcasting will be visiting music establishments in the Polson area in hopes of qualifying you for the finals.
2.Three qualifiers will be picked from each of the establishments by our panel of judges, and will be invited to the semifinals location on the schedule and final round of competition to be held at The Sportspage on April 5th. If you don't qualify the night you perform you can come back each week to try again. All shows will start at approx. 7pm.
3.Over the course of this event, Polson's three most talented vocalists will be awarded cash and prizes. Our goal is to create an unprecedented event for the whole community to come out and see some incredibly talented entertainers. This whole event will be supported with a local marketing campaign to include radio and print media.
4.D & D Karaoke will provide the sound system to play your accompaniment music. All genres of music are allowed. Each contestant will sing two songs each night they perform. Selection of songs will be "first come first serve" duplication of songs will not be allowed. It is recommended that you pick your songs early if we do not have your song it will take a few days to get it.
5.There will be no group or duet entries.
6.We will need a minimum of 30 contestants for the competition to be held. All performers will need to be signed up before the contest starts!!!
7.Polson's Got Talent will be judged by three guest professionals in the music field. You will be judged on vocal ability, stage presence and delivery (how you delivery the song to the audience). All of the points you receive from the first time you qualify for semifinals will be totaled together at the end of the finals to determine the first, second and third place winners.
8.Contestants will be informed by email or can go to Anderson Broadcasting.com website and click on Polson's Got Talent to see who has advanced to the final competition. It will also be posted at the next venue.
9.It is strongly recommended that the contestants select songs that run no more than five minutes. The time limit is due to the high expected number of entries. Avoid songs with big instrumental breaks.
10.All contestants must conduct themselves in a respectful manner. No obscene language or dancing inappropriate gestures or costuming will be tolerated. You will be automatically disqualified from the competition if this rule is not followed. These are considered family friendly shows.
11.Each establishment and D & D Karaoke and Anderson Broadcasting is not responsible for theft or damage of any kind to persons or personal property/belongings before, during or after the competition performances.
12.Competition sponsors reserve the right to use the contestant's name and/or photo for any further publicity purposes. By entering this competition, winners agree to waive any and all claims against the sponsors, affiliates, employees, agents, and representatives for personal injury or loss that may occur from the participation in this competition, or from the receipt of use of any prize, and grant to sponsors the right to publicize the winners names and/or likeness without additional compensation or consideration.
13.The semifinal and the final competition will be held at the Sportspage and will Be open to the public, space is limited so come early. NO RESERVATIONS!
14.The sponsors reserve the right of final decision on any matters pertaining to the Polson's Got Talent competition.
15.Final contestants agree to stay at the Sportspage for the duration of the competition performances until judging is completed. If any contestant is not present when winners are being announced they will be disqualified from the competition and the next runner up will move to that spot.
16.All competition and stored information, except for name and appearance, received from the competition entrants remains the exclusive property of the competition sponsors and will not be sold or distributed. By entering the competition, the entrant consents to the recording or photography of his/her activities relating to his/her participation in the competition.
ADJUDICATION CRITERIA Contestants will be judged on the following basis: Vocal Ability, Stage Presence, and Delivery. Contestants are scored solely by the judges and are not influenced on the size of enthusiasm of an entrant's "fan club". Winning contestants must be present for the presentation of the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prizes. Judges have been carefully selected. All contestants agree to accept these judges and to abide by their decisions. The Polson's Got Talent Karaoke competition is presented as an amateur only contest for individual performers. It is understood that all contestants cannot have performed professionally. Any person submitting an entry who is later found to have performed professionally will forfeit any winning position and will be required to return any monies received for their winning.
